Fortifications and Harbour Tour

Alderney Wildlife Trust

Braye Harbour is a relatively new harbour, becoming the main harbour for the island only 300 years ago. Our tours vary depending on the group and interests but generally include a visit inside Fort Gronez (conditions allowing), the first of 18 Victorian forts and batteries built to defend the Braye Breakwater, and the breakwater itself described as one of the 100 greatest engineering achievements of the Victorian Period by the Royal Institute of Engineers.
Scheduled day and time: Saturdays 1.30pm from the Braye Beach Hotel

Cost: cost £6 adults and £4 children
