We feel so lucky to be able to enjoy so many festive events this year but we know it's tricky to keep track so we have put together a list of some of the festive events taking place from now until 20th December. If we have missed you off, please do get in touch.

Our next round will feature over Christmas and into the New Year!

 

Santa Santa

10th December

St Peter Port Late night Shopping

Shops open until 9pm and this year Park & Ride is available at Frossard House by Petit Train! It’s free and goes from Frossard House to Piquet House (Trafalgar Travel) for the remaining St Peter Port late night shopping events. Service starts from the Bus Stop/Loading bay outside Frossard House (The Custard Castle) at 17:45. The train will be running a shuttle service all evening until about 21:15.

11th December

BBC Radio Guernsey Christmas carol service

St Peter’s Church will be holding their annual Carol Service at 6pm with readings from familiar voices and music from members of the Rainbow Chorus, Singing for Health Choir and St Peter’s Youth Choir. Parking is available thanks to St Peter’s Post Office, the Longfrie Surgery and Sylvans Football Club.

Snow Queen

Watch Snow Queen at the Princess Royal Arts Centre. The story follows the trials and tribulations of Gerda as she hunts for her best friend Cei who has been taken by the Snow Queen after a shard of the Goblin's magic mirror gets caught in his heart. This story takes her on a journey of discovery meeting lots of strange and unusual people along the way

It starts at 7pm and you can get tickets from Guernsey Tickets

12th December

Now That’s What I Call Christmas!

Is the biggest and best party anywhere this festive season! Held at the David Ferguson Hall, Beau Sejour at 19.00 featuring Fade2Grey with classic hits!

Santa’s Christmas Grotto @ Oaty & Joey

Santa’s Grotto is open from 10-11am and 3-5pm at Oaty and Joey’s Playbarn.

Sausmarez Manor Farmers Market

A weekly market held at the St Martins Parish Hall during the winter, with a selection of stalls selling local produce. Free entry and free parking. St Martins Parish Hall, from 9.00am – 12.00

Guernsey Parkrun

Free, weekly, inclusive 5km timed run for all abilities, meeting at Pembroke Bay at 9.00am.  Please register before your first here

Guernsey Raiders Christmas Party

Is open to all ages and includes a visit from Santa and a bake off competition. It’s from 2-4pm at Club House, Garenne Stand. Rsvp to Sadie 

Festiva Celebrates Christmas

13th December

Christingle at St Martin’s Parish Church

Christingle Service at the St Martin’s Parish Church at 5pm, followed by refreshments by St Martin’s Girl Guiding.

Christmas with the Glees

Join the Guernsey Glee Singers at their annual Christmas concert on Sunday at 7.30pm at Les Capelles Methodist Church.  This year the programme includes music from John Rutter, John Williams and Paul McCartney, an original piece by the Glees Musical Director Lydia Jane Pugh, together with seasonal favourites. Entry donation minimum £5, with a donation to Guernsey Cheshire Homes for the refreshments.

Santa Fun Run

Take part in the Santa Fun Run, starting 11.30am from the Beach House at Pembroke, finishing at Market Square. For full details and how to sign up, go to aidreachingchildren.org.gg/santa-fun-run  Raising funds for Aid Reaching Children.

Santa’s Aquathon

A festive Swim - Run event for ages 6 and up (those able to swim at least 50m with no aid). Organised by Try A Tri Guernsey. From 1pm-3pm. To register for this event visit eventbrite

Virtual Breakfast with Santa

JT are providing a live feed to Santa’s home in the North Pole on Facebook making sure children across the Channel Islands won’t miss out on the magic of Christmas.  Creating magical moments between 9:30 and 10:30! More information here

Candie Christmas with Santa’s Grotto

A unique Santa’s Grotto set up in the gardens (open 11am-3pm), decorated especially for the occasion. A charge of £5 per child applies to the Grotto and includes a small gift.

Other festive fun at the Museums includes the following (normal admission applies):

  • Making seasonal decorations and cards in the Discovery Room
  • Festive family films shown in the Frossard Theatre all day
  • Live music in the galleries
  • Storytelling in the galleries provided each week by staff from Guille-Allès Library

OGH Christmas Family Afternoon Tea

Fun packed afternoon tea of festive eats and treats!  There will be a soft play area, arts & crafts, face painting and a visit from Santa. Afternoon Tea served from 1pm-4.30pm - Child £17.50 and Adult £25.00. Call 01481 724921 or email

14th December

Christmas Courtyard Market

From 5pm – 8pm there will be a Christmas Market at the National Trust of Guernsey Folk and Costume Museum. Featuring Artisan stalls, warming winter food and carols around the Christmas Tree with the Guernsey Glee Singers.

15th December

Island Coachways Christmas Lights Tour

See the lights shine and sparkle on this tour which includes a stop at the Patois Café. Tours start at 18.00 from Liberation Monument. More information here Sold out! Next date 23rd Dec

Petit Train Christmas Lights Tour

Last chance to go on a Petit Train Christmas lights tours as all the others have sold out!  It’s at 8pm and you can book it here

16th December

Family Christmas Movie Night

Arthur Christmas will be played at 4pm and the classic Home Alone at 6.30pm in the private cinema at Fermain Valley Hotel. £10 per adult and £5 per child including mulled wine, mince pie, popcorn & kids squash! More information here

The Australian Ballet – Cinderella

As Cinderella works to support her stepmother and sisters, she watches as they prepare for a magnificent ball being held by the Prince of the land, knowing that they will not permit her to attend. When they leave, she imagines herself dancing at the ball in a beautiful gown wishing that she could attend. The Fairy Godmother takes pity on her and visits Cinderella to transform her rags into a ball gown, transporting her to the ball and warning her that the magic will vanish at Midnight.

Street Sports

Guernsey sports commission run Street Sports from 6.30-7.30pm for ages 6-11, at Les Genats Estate. Free to attend!  Further information here

Festive Tales in the Tower

Join the Guille-Alles Library for festive tales on 17 December in the newly refurbished story tower. Two 30 minute sessions at 18.30 and 19.15. This is a family event, all ages welcome, but most suitable for 4-8 year-olds.

Book one ticket per child attending here  You don’t need to book ticket(s) for the accompanying adult(s)

18th December

Guernsey Choral Orchestral Society Christmas Concert

The GCOS Christmas 2020 concert features Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria and Dyson’s Magnificat in D alongside other Christmas music. Friday and Saturday, 18th and 19th December 2020 at 7:30 pm

Pre-Christmas Charity Rock Night

Fundraiser at the Fermain Tavern in aid of the Patients and Visitors Comfort Fund on Brehon Ward at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital. From 7.30pm-11.55pm with music from Micky Haimes & Shades of Blue. Compere is Elwood John Blues. It’s £7 on the door.

Youth Commission Christmas Disco

Free entry, music & lights, party games, Christmas dress encouraged, snacks & drinks available at small cost.  This is for school years 3-7 at the Caves, 2 Upper Mansell.

19th December

Little Puffin signing Christmas special with DOH by Clo

Ideal for 3-5 year olds at Bright Beginnings Children’s Centre with Christmas signing session, festive sensory play & craft session, drink & snack, Doh by Clo gift to take home. From 10am-12.

Afro-Caribbean Christmas

Kids fun zone, music, giveaways and performances hosted by Minister Blessed. Jamaican food & drink on Sale by Rebel Chef. Adults £5 at the door, kids free at the Eldad Elim Church, from 4-8pm.

20th December

Festive fun at The Plough

Visit Father Christmas and The Plough Grotto, for children under 10 years old from 10am-11.30am. Tickets available from Plough Inn at £5 each. Arts & Crafts & refreshments available.

MUG Santa Standup Paddle

Dress up as a Santa, Elf or any other fancy dress and join the Guernsey Paddle Club for a standup paddle jaunt. From 10.00-16.00 in aid of, and raising awareness for Male Uprising Guernsey (MUG).
